Position Purpose:
In a team oriented environment, perform all tasks in Initial Phase Manufacturing, Composites, or Final Phase in a timely and efficient manner to ensure aircraft parts, sub-assemblies, major assemblies, and installations are built to type design data.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions: 1. Perform inspection duties utilizing engineering drawings and orders, work instructions, technical specifications, QA procedures and instructions, and other related documents. 2. Perform preliminary and progressive inspections of aircraft structure and systems, verify functional operation, final inspections, inspect for FOD and verify paperwork. Position Purpose:
In a team oriented work environment, under minimal supervision, performs a variety of structural assembly operations in a production department.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions: 1. Perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures and varied drilling and riveting operations; ensures parts/assembly meet requirements. 2. Rivet structural assemblies and parts using all tools required to do the job (e.g. portable riveting guns, pneumatic guns, pneumatic drills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, rivets). Maintain a neat and orderly work area, supports the company 5S Program, and complies with all safety regulations. 9. Able to work with minimal supervision on duties and tasks. 10. The regions largest civilian airshow demo team, the GEICO Skytypers, is seeking a talented A&P mechanic to join our maintenance team. Based out of Long Island's Republic Airport, Farmingdale NY, our team of skilled technicians maintain a fleet of 6 vintage North American SNJ/T-6 aircraft. These aircraft are used to perform at airshows up and down the east coast, and for local aerial advertising. This is a PERMANENT, FULL-TIME position (8am-4pm M-F). Duties include, but are not limited to: all manner of general aircraft maintenance, the servicing of aircraft, fueling, pre-flighting, and marshaling aircraft. Duties are performed  in a hangar and / or out on the flight line. This position requires traveling with the aircraft in a support role to, from, and during airshows.   Some weekend availability for Skytyping will also be required.  All employees are subject to security screenings and background checks.
