The Rugged and Economic H215 Ready for the U.S. Market

The Rugged and Economic H215 Ready for the U.S. MarketAirbus Helicopters’ H215—the twin-engine, versatile, economic and robust helicopter designed to meet a wide range of utility missions—is about to embark on a US-wide demo tour following its appearance on static display at the 2016 Heli Expo international trade show.

Beginning on March 4, the H215 will perform demonstration flights in Louisville, KY; Huntsville, AL; and finally Los Angeles and Sacramento, CA, where it will take part in the static display for the Aerial Fire Fighting International 2016 conference.

The H215 combines advanced avionics and a reliable platform for rugged multi-mission capabilities. Both EASA- and FAA-certified, the aircraft is equipped with the most modern technologies, meeting the latest safety requirements of the market. This includes a glass cockpit and the renowned 4-axis autopilot used on the H225, which provides flight envelope protection, unrivalled precision, and stability in even the harshest operating conditions.

“The H215 is pre-equipped to carry out a wide range of missions, offering long range capabilities, power, speed, a large useful payload and very good lifting performance in hot and high environments, as well as the latest autopilot with advanced safety features,” says Fabrice Arfi, head of Business Development at Airbus Helicopters. “It will be a real asset for North American operators looking for an economical choice to perform various utility missions.”

Proposing a new business concept to the market, the H215 offers a standardized equipment definition for more rapid production times at an economic price, meeting the needs of existing and emerging markets. It is tailored for a full range of missions, in particular utility airlift with internal and external loads, fire fighting, law enforcement and search & rescue missions, federal and military operations, as well as peace-keeping and humanitarian deployments.
