Soloy Avionics Division is Operational

With the installation of cabinetry and technician benches complete, the Avionics Services division of Olympia, WA-based Soloy Aviation is fully ramped up and operating.

Headed by three of the Northwest region’s most experienced installation and repair technicians, Soloy can now offer virtually any configuration or avionics package piston and turbine pilots can dream up.

Soloy’s Quality Assurance Manager, William Humburg, along with Don Hall and the father/son team of Pat and John Atchison, has completed the necessary requirements to add avionics services to Soloy’s FAA repair station license. In addition, Soloy has become a dealership and factory-authorized facility for Garmin and Aspen Avionics as well as a distributorship for Aviall and Edmo.

“Soloy’s greatest strength has been engineering the finest fixed wing and helicopter turbine conversions in the world,” says Dave Stauffer, Soloy’s CEO. “But with those conversions, configuring for new avionics is usually a necessity. It was being done by third-party vendors for Soloy. Today, there is so much for owner/operators to gain from modern avionics technology that it just made sense for Soloy to add complete avionics capacity in house.”

Finding the right talent was Soloy’s highest priority. “We actively recruited Don, Pat and John,” says Stauffer. “These guys have the knowledge and the decades of experience that give Soloy customers the highest degree of confidence when it comes to their avionics needs. Their backgrounds include NASA, Boeing, the U.S. Army and Sundstrand. That’s some pretty tough experience to beat. We’re glad to have them representing Soloy.”

Soloy’s addition adds a top-tier avionics facility to the Northwest region.
