Robinson Helicopter Company ends 2016 by rolling an R66 S/N 0763—its 12,000th helicopter—off the production line. “A nice way to end the year,” says Robinson president, Kurt Robinson.

Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announces the completion of the first fully customized aircraft from its new European state-of-the-art customization and delivery center located in Prague. The customer, Air Transport Europe of Slovakia, recently accepted three newly customized Bell 429 EMS-configured aircraft at Bell Helicopter’s delivery center in Prague.

Air Evac Lifeteam’s continued commitment to safety is validated by the FAA when its safety management system is awarded the designation of “Active Conformance.” This is the highest status an SMS can achieve.

Robinson Helicopter Company delivers an R44 Cadet to the University of North Dakota (UND). This is the first Cadet to be used in UND’s prestigious flight training program.

Vector Aerospace (www.vectoraerospace.com), a global independent provider of aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, receives Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) supplemental type certificate (STC) approval to extend its ADS-B solutions to cover the Airbus Helicopters H120/EC120; H125/AS350; H130/EC130 and H135/EC135 series, with operators able to choose from either the L3 Lynx NGT-9000 or Garmin GTX-345 transponders.

Honeywell (NYSE: HON) and Truth Data, a cloud-based flight data monitoring company, are helping helicopter operators improve the safety, performance and efficiency of their helicopters through the use of data. A recently signed memorandum of understanding allows for Truth Data to sell Honeywell’s Sky Connect Tracker III system for improved helicopter communications and tracking and for Honeywell to provide Truth Data services to operators looking to leverage the information produced by their helicopters for smarter, safer operations.

RUAG Aviation secures Authorized Service Center status for the Leonardo AW139 helicopter at its locations in Sion and Lugano, Switzerland. This authorization confirms RUAG Aviation as a full-support partner for the AW139 helicopter, including all maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), as well as warranty services.

Med-Trans Corporation, a national air medical transport provider, bases a Bell 407 GPX air ambulance helicopter in Baldwin County, AL, in partnership with Medstar Emergency Medical Services. Flying with the name Medstar Air Care 1, Medstar EMS provides paramedics for the crews, while Med-Trans provides the helicopter, pilots and nurses.

TRAXXALL Technologies, provider of an innovative aircraft maintenance tracking and inventory management system, announces that it will open a new office in Jacksonville, FL.

Colombia's civil aviation authority, Unidad Administrativa Especial de Aeronáutica Civil (UAEAC), approves the Offshore and Utility type certificate for Sikorsky's S-76C™ series (C, C+, C++), S-76D™ and S-92A® helicopters. The certificate enables Colombia's commercial aviation operators to add the multi-role helicopters for transportation of workers or cargo to offshore oil and gas rigs, as well as regional airline passenger service and VIP transportation.

Garmin International, Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN), announces that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted supplemental type certification (STC) for the installation of the GTX 345 ADS-B In/Out and GTX 335 ADS-B Out transponders in an approved model List (AML) of Part 27 helicopters.

Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company (NYSE: LMT), celebrates the 10-year anniversary of the S-92® helicopter operating in China. Sikorsky made the announcement at Booth #H6E1 during Airshow China.

Associated Aircraft Group, the Northeast’s largest premier executive Sikorsky S-76® helicopter service, announces the continued expansion of its helicopter management program with the addition of three Sikorsky S-76 helicopters. The announcement was made at the National Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition. AAG is a subsidiary of Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company (NYSE: LMT).

Spectrum Aeromed announces that the company’s medical interior was installed on an Augusta Westland AW139 for Ornge, the air-ambulance service provider in the Canadian province of Ontario. The helicopter was deployed to a remote base located in Moosonee, Ontario, Canada.

Elbit Systems announces it has been awarded the title of “Industrial Best Performer Supplier” by Airbus Helicopters for the year 2015. Elbit was selected by Airbus for its “quality and on-time delivery performances and customer protection."

Airbus Helicopters Inc. plans to exhibit a California Highway Patrol H125 AStar at the 2016 International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Conference in San Diego, CA, on Oct. 16-18, Booth #4927. 

Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announces it has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Yuhi Airlines for a Bell 505 Jet Ranger X. The aircraft will be used for corporate travel and tourism across the region.

Universal Avionics and Heli-One announce cockpit upgrades to be performed on a fleet of Sikorsky S-61A-4 NURI helicopters for an Asian operator, featuring Universal’s EFI-890H advanced flight displays and Multi-Missions Management System (MMMS). Universal Avionics' authorized dealer, Heli-One, is set to perform the design and installation for the initial aircraft, with an Asian maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organization performing the upgrades for the remainder of the fleet.

Heli-One, a provider of helicopter maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, receives supplemental type certificate (STC) approval from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) for its flight management system (FMS) upgrade for the Airbus AS332L and AS332L1. The STC is a part of the AS332L/L1 modernization program currently underway with the Bundespolizei German Police (BPOL) and contracted by NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). The program includes an extensive flight display upgrade.

Heli-One, a provider of helicopter maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, receives supplemental type certificate (STC) approval for its Universal Avionics EFI-890H Advanced Flight Display upgrade from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA).

Leonardo-Finmeccanica announces the signing of a contract with Centaurium Aviation Ltd. of Switzerland for an AgustaWestland GrandNew light twin-engine helicopter. The signing was performed during an official ceremony held in Helitech, Amsterdam.

Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announces the signing of the first VIP customer for its Customer Advantage Plan (CAP) support solution in Europe. The private customer operates a Bell 407GXP and is located in Belgium.

RAMM Aerospace announces that its Bell 206/407 frameless seat cushions are now Transport Canada Civil Aviation-approved. The Helifab TCCA supplemental type certificate (STC) SH16-41 eliminates the 206/407 seat frame entirely for all forward-facing passenger seats and will be available for all seating positions in the near future. The kits were previously approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

Airbus Helicopters kicks off the flight test campaign of the public services variant of the H175 medium twin-engine helicopter. An initial flight test campaign was successfully concluded after 12 flights. This included a demonstration carried out with Hong Kong’s Government Flying Service (GFS), who became launch customer for this new variant in September 2015 with an order for seven units.
