Rolls-Royce announces it is proud to be a member of the team that was recently awarded the prestigious 2010 Robert J. Collier Trophy.

The Light Helicopter Turbine Engine Company (LHTEC) CTS800-powered Sikorsky X2 Technology demonstrator won the award given annually to recognize the greatest achievements in aeronautics or astronautics in America. LHTEC is a 50:50 partnership between Rolls-Royce and Honeywell.

Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services-North America, a subsidiary of Vector Aerospace Corporation has been granted a Federal Aviation Administration Amended Supplemental Type Certificate (STC), #SA1230AK-R STC; for an Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) Integrated Cockpit Display System (ICDS or “glass cockpit”) installation and Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) for the Sikorsky S-61L and S-61N series helicopters. The system is certified for Dual Pilot Instrument Flight Rules; Category A and B operations.

HAI encourages its members to file comments. The FAA has proposed modifications of the memorandum of agreement (MOA) for Industry Access to Aircraft Situation Display (ASDI) and National Airspace System Status Information (NASSI) data. The proposal would prohibit direct and indirect subscribers from publicizing the registration number of any general aviation aircraft for which the FAA has received a certified security concern.

The companies also entered into a Service Level Agreement pursuant to which Sikorsky will provide global supply chain support and certain production restart services, which will aid Eclipse Aerospace in its efforts to reintroduce production of the Eclipse 500® very light twin engine jet.
