Airbus Helicopters Inc. plans to exhibit a California Highway Patrol H125 AStar at the 2016 International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Conference in San Diego, CA, on Oct. 16-18, Booth #4927. 

Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announces it has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Yuhi Airlines for a Bell 505 Jet Ranger X. The aircraft will be used for corporate travel and tourism across the region.

Universal Avionics and Heli-One announce cockpit upgrades to be performed on a fleet of Sikorsky S-61A-4 NURI helicopters for an Asian operator, featuring Universal’s EFI-890H advanced flight displays and Multi-Missions Management System (MMMS). Universal Avionics' authorized dealer, Heli-One, is set to perform the design and installation for the initial aircraft, with an Asian maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organization performing the upgrades for the remainder of the fleet.

Heli-One, a provider of helicopter maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, receives supplemental type certificate (STC) approval from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) for its flight management system (FMS) upgrade for the Airbus AS332L and AS332L1. The STC is a part of the AS332L/L1 modernization program currently underway with the Bundespolizei German Police (BPOL) and contracted by NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). The program includes an extensive flight display upgrade.

Heli-One, a provider of helicopter maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, receives supplemental type certificate (STC) approval for its Universal Avionics EFI-890H Advanced Flight Display upgrade from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA).

Leonardo-Finmeccanica announces the signing of a contract with Centaurium Aviation Ltd. of Switzerland for an AgustaWestland GrandNew light twin-engine helicopter. The signing was performed during an official ceremony held in Helitech, Amsterdam.

Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announces the signing of the first VIP customer for its Customer Advantage Plan (CAP) support solution in Europe. The private customer operates a Bell 407GXP and is located in Belgium.

RAMM Aerospace announces that its Bell 206/407 frameless seat cushions are now Transport Canada Civil Aviation-approved. The Helifab TCCA supplemental type certificate (STC) SH16-41 eliminates the 206/407 seat frame entirely for all forward-facing passenger seats and will be available for all seating positions in the near future. The kits were previously approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

Airbus Helicopters kicks off the flight test campaign of the public services variant of the H175 medium twin-engine helicopter. An initial flight test campaign was successfully concluded after 12 flights. This included a demonstration carried out with Hong Kong’s Government Flying Service (GFS), who became launch customer for this new variant in September 2015 with an order for seven units.

FEC Heliports Worldwide Ltd announces that its HEMS-Star® portable LED helipad lighting system has been purchased by the United Nations for the Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA).

The Mexican Navy takes delivery of the first of ten AS565 MBe Panther helicopters it purchased in 2014, becoming the first customer in the world to receive the new version of the multi-role, medium-class, military rotorcraft. The Navy will receive three other units before the end of the year and the remaining six by 2018.

Enstrom Helicopter Corporation announces its latest delivery to Sharkey’s Helicopters. The F28F is the fourth ship to be sold to Sharkey’s in the past nine months. Sharkey's has also had a delivery of a 480B, a 280FX and an F28F for its customers.

Spectrum Aeromed announces that the company’s articulating stretcher and medical interior has been installed in four Bell 407 helicopters for Arkansas-based Survival Flight, with two more installations planned.

FlightSafety International announces that Willy Vargas has been promoted to director of Sales for Latin America and the Caribbean. He is responsible for FlightSafety’s training sales and business development activities in the region.

Spectrum Aeromed announces the company’s equipment was installed on a new Bell 407GXP helicopter for Boise, ID-based Idaho Helicopters. The new aircraft is equipped with a single-patient pivot system and will fly helicopter air ambulance for St. Luke’s Hospital.

Aviation Specialties Unlimited (ASU) announces it has completed its 1000th FAA-approved night vision cockpit modification. This modification was completed on a Bell 407GXP at Wysong Enterprises, Inc., (Wysong) in Blountville, TN, for MED TRANS Air Medical Transport ( Med-Trans Corp).

Safety experts from the U.S. Helicopter Safety Team (www.USHST.org) plan to participate on Oct. 25-27 in the Federal Aviation Administration’s International Rotorcraft Safety Conference in Fort Worth, TX. The free conference (www.faahelisafety.org) gathers together rotorcraft pilots, mechanics, small company owners, industry executives, helicopter operators, students and government regulators from the United States and abroad.

Leonardo-Finmeccanica announces the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has certified the AW189’s Full Ice Protection System (FIPS), clearing the way for the aircraft to operate in full icing conditions when other helicopters would be grounded.

Safran is selected to supply engines for the rotary wing training aircraft under the UK’s Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS) program. Safran Helicopter Engines will provide Arrius 2B2Plus and Arriel 2E turbines for the fleet of Airbus Helicopters H135 and H145.

As part of Airbus Helicopters Canada’s international repair and overhaul success, it expands its Support and Services department at its main facility in Fort Erie, ON. The 5,000-square-foot space is an increase of 65% for the company’s Repair and Overhaul department.
