Heli-One, the world's largest independent provider of helicopter maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, announces it has completed its first proprietary repair in its Poland facility of an AgustaWestland AW139 first generation duct. Heli-One’s facility in Rzeszow completed the repair for a third party customer, making it mission ready in just 10 days.

APG Avionics (APG) – a supplier of avionics and aviation equipment for para-military and military applications – will present Controp Precision Technologies Ltd’s (Controp) new line of S.I.T.E. (Surveillance, Infrared, Thermal and Electro-optical ) systems in booth 11535 at Helicopter Association International’s (HAI) HELI-EXPO on March 1 - 3, 2016 in Louisville, KY.

GKN Aerospace plans to display rotary wing developments from across its global business at Booth #11743 at HELI-EXPO, from Feb. 29 - March 3, 2016. The company is an established supplier of major sections of fuselage, ice protection systems, transparencies and fuel and flotation equipment for many civil and military helicopter programmes globally. With the integration of Fokker Technologies into the GKN Aerospace operation, new capabilities are added, including advanced landing gear and mission computing.

For the first time at Heli-Expo, Machida Borescopes will showcase its latest addition to the Machida Videoscope family, the VSC-4-140-NLT in its hands-on engine display. The new 4mm Video Borescope fitted with a threaded removable side view adapter is used by engine manufactures and approved for use in helicopter engines.

Finmeccanica, through its helicopter division, hands over to Specialist Aviation Services its first AgustaWestland AW169 new generation intermediate class helicopter. The helicopter is also the first to be delivered to a UK customer and will enter service with Kent, Surrey, & Sussex Air Ambulance following installation of an advanced medical interior by Specialist Aviation Services.

Airbus Helicopters partners with Thales and Helisim to develop and deploy the full flight simulator (FFS) for the H160. In line with the “born ready” strategy implemented by the H160 since the beginning of its development, the FFS will be available to support the H160’s entry into service.

Global members of the International Helicopter Safety Team plan to gather at Heli-Expo next month for a worldwide summit to focus on civil helicopter safety and to share knowledge and advice about reducing accidents.

Airbus Helicopters receives EASA certification for the Rig’N Fly (Rig Integrated GPS approaches with eNhanced Fly-ability and safetY), an avionics enhancement designed to provide automatic rig approaches for offshore operations. First developed on H225, it will also be implemented on H175 (end 2016) and on H160.

Tradewind International, LLC, of Janesville, WI, accepts two inventories of large parts from Erickson, Inc., and Toll Remote Logistics. The combined inventories account for more than 2000 parts that are being added to the inventory of Tradewind International. Inventory additions include parts for the Bell 204, 205, 206 and 212, in new, overhauled, serviceable and as-removed condition.

RAMM Aerospace now offers frameless seat cushions for the Bell 206/407 aircraft. The HeliFab FAA supplemental type certificate SR09522RC eliminates the 206/407 seat frame entirely for all forward-facing passenger seats and will be available for all seating positions in the near future. TCCA/EASA approvals are pending.

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) awards the certification of the increased maximum take-off weight (MTOW) for the H145. With this enhancement, the helicopter can carry an extra 50 kg, raising the MTOW to a total of 3.7 metric tons. It will be available for customers in early 2016. As the improvement does not require any structural modifications or additional equipment, it will not cause extra costs for the operators.

Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announces today the delivery of the Bell 407GXP configured for Helicopter Emergency Medical Services to Air Methods (Nasdaq: AIRM). As revealed in March 2015, this is the first of many Bell 407GXPs expected over the next ten years. Bell Helicopter and Air Methods commemorate the delivery at a special ceremony at Air Methods headquarters in Englewood, CO.

PhilJets Group places an order with Airbus Helicopters for one brand new H130 light helicopter, scheduled for delivery in June 2016.

FEC Heliports announces it will be exhibiting HEMS-Star, their new portable, battery-powered, rechargeable LED helipad lighting system at the forthcoming HAI Heli-Expo in the US.
 

The Lithuanian Ministry of Defence and the Lithuanian Armed Forces announce today the entry of their next generation of helicopters for countrywide search and rescue missions with around-the-clock availability. The Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces assigned their three new AS365 N3+ helicopters to the 24/7 SAR mission service.

Erickson Incorporated (NASDAQ:EAC), a global provider of aviation services, is contracted through Australian partner Kestrel Aviation for a third S64E Aircrane heli-tanker to support firefighting efforts in the state of Victoria, Australia. In total, Erickson has six Aircranes currently working in the country.

By establishing this new network, DART allows small and medium size helicopter operators and private owners to have access in their region to dedicated partners qualified to offer DART aftermarket solutions.

Erickson Incorporated (NASDAQ:EAC), a global provider of aviation services, is selected as a subcontractor by Adams Communication & Engineering Technologies (ACET) for the refurbishment of two MH-53E helicopters, in support of the United States Navy Heavy Lift Helicopter Program.
