Chief Inspector

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage and Oversight of all inspection activities relating to all forms of inspection, including product/maintenance verification and compliance to contractual requirements.
• Responsible for the proper handling of parts while in the repair process as we as authorizing the return to service of repaired parts.
• Assures that no defective or non-airworthy parts are installed in units released by the Repair Station.
• Manage and control nonconforming product and disposition product and processing non-conformances in a timely manner. Manage and head the non-conforming product (NCP) process and seek approval(s) as needed.
• Ensure compliance to all industry standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9110, FAA 145) regulatory, government and specific customer specifications, internal procedures required in support of meeting contractual requirements for all deliverables.
• Develop and implement methodologies for improving inspection and defect reductions.
• Manage gage/tool calibrations in accordance with the specified procedures.
• Assist operations with all product related corrective action processes.
• Define and arrange to provide training to personnel as required to ensure compliance to documented procedures.
• Manage preparation and approval of all First Article Inspection (FAI)/First Article Test (FAT) per applicable requirements.
• Support customer and senior leadership meetings in preparing quality related material.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Knowledge of UH-60, UH-1, Bell 206/407 aircraft required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Writing and oral communication skills sufficient to prepare reports and to discuss equipment malfunction.
• Ability to effectively lead a team of mechanics on all aspects of aircraft engine maintenance, assist with training of employees, and provide guidance as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years of aviation quality preferred
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (AP) Certificate required
• FAA Inspector Authorization (IA) certificate required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Attention to detail, and ability to stand and work on top of aircraft, from ladders, and in confined areas for extended periods, both in and out of doors
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently, and to team lift 50 lbs
