Elec Tech Avionics II
The Electrical Technician Avionics II installs, troubleshoots, and maintains aviation electronics equipment to include but not limited to; advanced communications, radar, navigation and aircraft survivability equipment in various Rotary and Fixed Wing aircraft.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerforms maintenance and installation of research and development projects on airplanes and helicopters.Assists in the preparation of schematic and wiring diagrams.Determines material specifications, assembles components, tests, troubleshoots and repairs avionics/electronic components as necessary. Components/assemblies primarily worked on include radio equipment, navigation equipment, autopilots, automatic stabilization equipment, and aircraft instrument systems. Fabricates, assembles necessary wire bundles, mounting equipment and assists with the design of unusual configuration necessary to adapt projects to aircraft systems. Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on helicopters and airplanes.Completes inspections, troubleshoots, accomplishes modification work orders, completes operational checks, orders repair parts through the Army Supply System and makes forms and records entries on aircraft records.Operates motor vehicles in accomplishment of assigned work and assists with on-the-job training of other technicians. May be required to participate in aerial flights.Assists with familiarization training of other technicians as required.The Electrical Technician Avionics II may be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organizationKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:Beginner to intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferredAbility to enter data accurately into databases.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondenceInterpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with other crew membersMust possess effective oral and technical written communication skills to clearly communicate information to others.Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.Ability to follow a process.Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.Strong decision analysis and problem solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management.Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to goals.Ability to perform basic mathematical computationsHigh degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independentlyAbility to multi-taskClimbs on top of and down from aircraft using aircraft hand/foot holds, capable of lifting up to 25 lbs. overhead, on feet all day, walk up to 2 miles per day.JOB REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or equivalentMinimum of 4 years#8217; experience on CH-47 aircraftMust have basic electronics / avionics tools and a shadowed tool box.Must possess and maintain a valid driver#8217;s license.Position may require travel.Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.HIGHLY DESIRABLE:ATIRCM knowledge and skills highly desiredFCC LicenseEMC/EMI KnowledgeY-Tech offers an excellent compensation and benefits package.
