Helicopter Association International (HAI) announces Rainbow Helicopters' VP of Maintenance, Mike Iven, as the recipient of the 2023 Salute to Excellence Maintenance Award. This award, presented by Rolls-Royce, recognizes an individual for long-standing excellence in rotorcraft maintenance, maintenance instruction or supervision, or a single significant contribution to rotorcraft maintenance.
Boost Human External Cargo Systems, the global provider of fully certified human external cargo systems, personnel carrying device systems (PCDS), and related training services announces its BOOST Personnel Carrying Device System for transport category rotorcraft recently received TCCA approval.
Garmin (NYSE: GRMN), announces supplemental type certification (STC) by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the GI 275 electronic flight instrument in Airbus AS350 helicopters. A powerful solution for helicopter owners and operators, the GI 275 is a scalable, cost-conscious approach to an avionics upgrade that is a direct replacement for a variety of legacy primary flight instruments in the cockpit, including the primary attitude indicator, course deviation indicator (CDI), horizontal situation indicator (HSI), or the multi-function display (MFD).
Horizon Aircraft (“Company” or “Horizon”), a leader in hybrid electric vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aerial vehicles, announces it has successfully completed initial hover testing of its Cavorite X5 scale prototype.
MD Helicopters, LLC (MDH), announces that HeliService, LLC, of Apopka, FL, has signed a purchase agreement for an MD 530F helicopter. The new MD 530F helicopter will be delivered in 2023.
MD Helicopters, LLC (MDH) announces the Atlanta Police Department has signed a $10 million purchase agreement for two MD 530F helicopters. Additionally, the department has signed an agreement to convert one of its MD 500E helicopters to an MD 530F through MDH’s FAA-approved E-to-F conversion program.
Daniels Manufacturing Corporation® (DMC) announces that LaceLok® is now qualified to MIL-DTL-32554 and MIL-DTL-32555. The technology is a direct replacement for lacing tape/string ties and cable ties for secondary support of wire harnesses and is now available for purchase.
Swiss air-rescue service Rega orders a second batch of 12 five-bladed H145 helicopters to be operated from its mountain bases, replacing the current fleet of AW109SP helicopters. This new order follows an initial contract for nine H145s, announced in March this year. By 2026, Rega will operate an all-Airbus fleet consisting of 21 five-bladed H145s.
