Night Flight Concepts Supports Development in Canada
Night Flight Concepts (NFC) announces that it completed provision of night vision goggle (NVG) maintenance training to the National Research Council of Canada (NRC). The training will help to further NVG lifecycle support and capability development in the evolving Canadian NVG market.
As Canada’s national aerospace laboratory, NRC Institute for Aerospace Research (NRC-IAR) always assumed a leadership role in supporting the research, innovation and development of advanced capabilities and the corresponding government standards that regulate them in Canada. The NRC has been actively involved in the research, development and testing of NVGs for several years to support the optimal delivery of this strategic capability into the Canadian market.
NRC has provided critical inputs to an industry-wide consultation process in the last year led by Transport Canada, aimed to help frame the formal provisions within the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) that will soon give the Canadian aviation community — both fixed- and rotary-wing — comprehensive oversight on the training and use of NVGs and related imaging systems. Proper NVG maintenance is an important part of these directives.
