Bell Announces First Bell 505 NXi Sale in Slovakia

Bell Textron Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, announces the sale of the first Bell 505 NXi in Slovakia to WELLPHARMA S.R.O., marking the second Bell 505 sale in the country in 2021. The customer will take delivery of the aircraft in summer 2022 at Bell’s Prague service center. The corporate-configured Bell 505 will be equipped with the latest Garmin G1000 NXi avionics and used for corporate and private transportation.

Safran Helicopter Engines and ÖAMTC Air Rescue agree to cooperate in introducing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The engine manufacturer will support the Austrian HEMS operator in deploying SAF to its Arrius 2B2-powered Airbus H135 fleet.

(NYSE:TXT) company, announces purchase agreements for five aircraft to customers in Ukraine. The signature ceremony was held at European Rotors with Heliclub Ukraine LLC, the official Bell representative in Ukraine. The signed purchase agreements include two Bell 505s, two Bell 429s, and one Bell 407GXi with the newly certified instrument flight rules (IFR) configuration.

GPMS, a provider of helicopter health-monitoring systems, announces at the SHIFT Air Medical Transport Conference that it is pursuing a supplemental type certificate (STC) for its Foresight MX health and usage monitoring system (HUMS) on the Airbus H135 platform. To achieve the STC, GPMS will work with Metro Aviation, a provider in air-medical transportation services and helicopter completions in the United States.

DART Aerospace receives FAA supplemental type certification (STC) for its SkyCannon® Fire Attack System on the Sikorsky UH-60/S-70 helicopter. The UH-60/S-70 is the third helicopter type certified to operate the SkyCannon after the Airbus EC225 Puma and Avicopter AC313.

Metro Aviation is embarking on a year-long project to test the capabilities of an FAA weather camera at its Ann Arbor, MI base, hypothesizing that the University of Michigan Survival Flight crew will see a reduction in canceled flights due to weather. Metro pilots currently use automated surface observing systems (ASOS) to obtain weather data, but the accuracy of these systems varies by location. If the weather cameras prove to be more accurate than ASOS, Metro Aviation and other Helicopter Air Ambulance (HAA) operators could see fewer canceled flights.

Hartzell Propeller purchases the assets of Tanis Aircraft Products, a manufacturer of engine preheat systems for fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, with facilities in Minnesota. The Tanis brand will become part of Hartzell Propeller’s heated products, which now includes systems for propeller de-ice, piston-engine preheat, turbine-engine preheat, helicopter preheat, battery, avionics and cabin preheat.
