SureFlight Expands Aircraft Completions Business with the Opening of West Coast Operations

SureFlight Aircraft Completions, a one-stop shop for paint, interior and avionic aircraft completion and refurbishment projects, announces the opening of its second facility in Springville, UT, adjacent to the Spanish Fork airport. This facility specializes in fixed-wing and rotorcraft custom interior and upholstery projects.

“Our West Coast aviation interiors operation is the natural evolution of our business to meet growing customer demands across the United States,” says Owen Watkins, co-founder and president, SureFlight Aircraft Completions. “Our Utah custom interiors shop is the first step in a long-term strategic plan to replicate SureFlight’s Pennsylvania state-of-the-art facilities, that also accommodate exterior paint and avionics, on the Spanish Fork airport.”

The Utah location has begun working with customers in Idaho and Wyoming as well as at regional airports such as SkyPark, Provo, Heber City, and Ogden. The company is establishing itself as part of the local community by volunteering to restore an A-26 Invader World War 2 aircraft, joining FAA enthusiast groups, and exhibiting at the Spanish Fork Airport show.

“When looking to expand our geographic footprint, it was imperative to guarantee customers with the same unparalleled talent, precision and quality,” says DeWitte Binkley, general manager, SureFlight. “Our master upholsterer, Dave Thompson, relocated to Utah and has quickly established convenient local operations to service the local aviation community and double capacity for East Coast customers.”

The highly trained team, led by industry veterans, provides everything from fully custom exterior paint to N number changes; a full luxury interior completion to making a simple throw rug; and avionics panel overhauls to installation and troubleshooting. Customers include regional repair stations, aircraft suppliers, OEMs and direct owner/operators.

SureFlight’s state-of-the-art facilities include:

  • an ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100 quality-certified FAA Repair Station
  • a temperature-controlled Double Down Draft paint hangar capable of fitting two S-92 airframes side by side or up to a Hawker 800
  • an interior completion center equipped with German-made Duerkopp-Adler sewing machines and digital leather skiving machines
  • cockpit avionic experts to install and troubleshoot cutting-edge navigational technology.

SureFlight completed its first bi-coastal refurbishment on a Beechcraft 390 Premier jet with full interior, exterior paint, and avionics.
