Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings Receives Additional AMS Qualifications for Complete Line of Chrome-free Commercial Aircraft Coatings Systems

Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings, available for all types of general, military/defense, and commercial aircraft, receive four AMS (Aerospace Material Specification) 3095B qualifications for the complete line of chrome-free systems for aircraft exterior coatings. These latest qualifications demonstrate that these coatings systems, and all their component products, meet the demanding industry standards for performance, durability and safety.

The AMS 3095 certification is targeted to the commercial MRO (maintenance, repair and overall) market, signifying suitability of these coatings for use in maintaining and repairing commercial aircraft. The four complete, chrome-free systems which utilize Sherwin-Williams products include:

• CM0220P01 Jet Prep™ Pretreatment system — providing advanced adhesion and corrosion protection
• CM0483800 and CM0483810 — two next-generation chrome-free primers with the highest corrosion-resistance for a chrome-free primer the company has offered
• Options for two premium topcoat products — single-stage Jet Glo Express® Polyester Urethane and basecoat-clearcoat 850 Series SKYscapes®, a high-performance polyurethane basecoat.
