Airbus Helicopters and its partners conduct a full-scale demonstration of a manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T) system developed as part of a project funded by the European Union and code-named MUSHER. The demonstration took place in France and Italy from Sept. 30 to Oct. 9 and involved multiple manned helicopters and unmanned systems connected to a single MUM-T network.
In partnership with Thales, StandardAero begins providing kits and installations of the world’s first full 4-axis autopilot specifically engineered for H125 helicopters, starting this June. The company is currently taking orders for kits and reservations for production slots.
StandardAero is unveiling the industry’s first 4-axis autopilot available for retrofit on AS350 helicopters. The autopilot, developed in partnership with Thales and known as StableLight, is equipped in an AS350 test rotorcraft. Demonstration flights will be performed during the 2022 HAI Heli-Expo on March 8-10 at the Dallas Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center Vertiport.
Thales and StandardAero announce the first successful flight test of a revolutionary compact autopilot system that will bring Airbus AS350 and H125 helicopters into a new era of performance and safety. The achievement of this key milestone lays the groundwork for an important phase of the supplemental type certification (STC) process and the launch of an unparalleled autopilot solution to the light-helicopter market by mid-2021.
