Boston MedFlight Continues to Invest in Safety with Purchase of ASU’s E3 Night Vision Goggles

Boston MedFlight (BMF), a nonprofit critical-care transport service, announces the purchase of the E3 Night Vision Goggles (NVGs) from Aviation Specialties Unlimited, Inc. (ASU). This investment is part of Boston MedFlight’s ongoing commitment to improving the safety and well-being of its pilots and clinical team while providing top-level care for critically ill or injured patients.

In addition to weight savings, the E3 NVGs provide significant safety enhancement for night helicopter operations. The ability for the pilot to see obstacles and assure ground clearance, even on the darkest night, makes this night-vision technology a lifesaver. The white-phosphor night-vision image-intensifier technology in E3 NVGs reduce eye strain and minimize blooming or shadowing from ground lights. E3 NVGs help mitigate fatigue and potential long-term injury for operators, particularly in demanding conditions.

“We are extremely proud of our partnership with the team at Boston MedFlight and honored to have them as an early adopter of E3,” says Dan Meyer, VP of Sales at ASU. “Boston MedFlight’s commitment to the health and safety of their pilots and clinicians is evident in their decision to purchase E3. These NVGs not only improve performance but also help safeguard the well-being of those tasked with life-saving missions. Boston MedFlight is one of the most respected air operations in New England, and they impact a large geographic region. Countless lives are saved because of their work, and that aligns perfectly with our mission to advance safety.”

ASU’s E3 NVGs are known for their superior optics, lightweight design, increased visibility, and enhanced comfort, providing Boston MedFlight’s teams with the highest level of performance while supporting their overall well-being.

“This purchase is a major investment in the safety of our employees,” says Rick Kenin, chief operating officer for Transport at Boston MedFlight. “Our team is tasked with performing life-saving missions every day, often in challenging environments. Improved visibility and reducing the weight of their equipment allows them to focus on the critical tasks of piloting our aircraft and providing patient care.”

ASU will have sales team members demonstrating the company’s new E3 Goggles at the Air Medical Transport conference in Salt Lake City at Booth #803, Nov. 4-6. ASU will also have a team at European Rotors at Stand #6057 in Amsterdam, Netherlands Nov. 5-7.
