StandardAero is unveiling the industry’s first 4-axis autopilot available for retrofit on AS350 helicopters. The autopilot, developed in partnership with Thales and known as StableLight, is equipped in an AS350 test rotorcraft. Demonstration flights will be performed during the 2022 HAI Heli-Expo on March 8-10 at the Dallas Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center Vertiport.

A modern textbook designed to meet the needs of a Part 147 helicopter maintenance program, and for the A&P mechanic looking to transition from fixed-wing to helicopter maintenance, is now available from Ace Tech Books. This book is developed towards international (EASA B1.3, 1.4) standards, going beyond just rotors and flight controls to include all relevant ATA airframe systems with a focus on that system’s application to large and small (CS27 and CS29) helicopters.
