StandardAero’s Airbus helicopter dynamic components MRO facility, located in Richmond, BC, Canada, celebrates the company’s 40th year of supporting Airbus Helicopter dynamic components services. The facility is a full-fledged, D Level-rated MRO shop, supported by Airbus factory-trained technicians covering all MRO, VDI and BBOV disciplines for servicing Airbus helicopters.

StandardAero is unveiling the industry’s first 4-axis autopilot available for retrofit on AS350 helicopters. The autopilot, developed in partnership with Thales and known as StableLight, is equipped in an AS350 test rotorcraft. Demonstration flights will be performed during the 2022 HAI Heli-Expo on March 8-10 at the Dallas Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center Vertiport.

StandardAero delivers the industry’s first UH-1H helicopter tailboom modified to be the lightest with the most heavy-lift strength to fly in the hottest and highest altitudes in the world. The first modification was delivered earlier this month to the helicopter fleet of launch customer, Pinal County, AZ, sheriff’s department.

StandardAero announces the appointment of Peter Wheatley as vice president/general manager of the company’s Helicopters business unit, located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In his new role, Wheatley will be responsible for managing StandardAero’s broad range of support offerings for the helicopter segment, which include OEM-authorized engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO); airframe support; dynamic component repair (DCR); crash-resistant fuel systems; and avionics installations. StandardAero’s Helicopters business unit is the world’s largest independent MRO provider that supports helicopter operators from locations in North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania.
