StandardAero Announces New Webinar Series for Fall

Due to popular demand, StandardAero announces a new series of webinars coming this fall. The three-part series is aimed at enhancing operators' and maintenance crews' aircraft engine knowledge and helping with common troubleshooting issues.

The three 90-minute sessions will focus on general familiarization of the most common Rolls-Royce M250 and RR300 engine models, complementing the specific technical topics presented throughout the summer. Ron Geall, a field service technician and engine instructor for the StandardAero helicopter programs with over 20 years of experience with the M250/RR300 engines, will be conducting the online sessions. The entire series will be offered free of charge and will be accessible to all maintenance technicians and operations staff.

Throughout the webinars, Geall will discuss the basics and particulars of the RR300 and M250 C20, C30, C40 and C47 engines. He will present a brief description of engines and accessories, discuss the layout and nomenclature, talk about the different variants of engines and their applications, describe the fundamentals of engine operation, and give an overview of the Rolls-Royce maintenance philosophy. In an interactive format, Geall will also share troubleshooting and maintenance tips.

The webinar series schedule will run as follows:

• Part 1: Rolls-Royce M250 C20 Series and RR300 Engine Familiarization — Thursday, September 10, 2020, 12 PM EST (90-minute session)
• Part 2: Rolls-Royce M250 C30 Series Engine Familiarization — Thursday, October 8, 2020, 12 PM EST (90-minute session)
• Part 3: Rolls-Royce M250 C40, C47 FADEC Engine Familiarization and M250 Engine Maintenance Records — Thursday, November 12, 2020, 12 PM EST (90-minute session)
