Airbus Helicopters and the French Armament General Directorate (DGA) test the unmanned aerial system (UAS) VSR700 for the first time in an operational configuration from a ship at sea. At the beginning of May, the VSR700 performed 80 fully autonomous take-offs and landings from a civil vessel equipped with a helicopter deck, cruising off the coast of Brittany in the west of France.

Leonardo Helicopters MD announces that the Rescue and Salvage Bureau of Ministry of Transport, PRC (MOT CRS), has signed a contract for six AW189 super-medium twin-engine helicopters, which will be utilized across the coastlines of China for maritime SAR operations. The fleet deliveries will be completed by 2023.
Helicopter Association International (HAI) and European Helicopter Association (EHA) announce the latest advancement in the partnership between the two VTOL organizations. In a gesture symbolizing their developing partnership, HAI has branded an office at its headquarters in Alexandria, VA, with the EHA logo. Effective Monday, March 14, 2022, the space in the Washington, D.C., suburbs will also provide EHA and its members with a location to work and hold meetings when in the area.
Bell Textron Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announces a signed purchase agreement for a Bell 505 to BESTFLY, an Angolan aviation company, with the intent to purchase a second 505 within six months. This is the first 505 sale in Angola and West Africa. The first aircraft is expected to be delivered October 2022, and the second aircraft expected delivery date is October 2023. The aircraft will be used for corporate transportation around the country.
